ROTAX CONVERSION KITS OVERVIEW AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

THE FARR-OFFROAD ROTAX CONVERSION KITS STARTED OFF WITH THE FL350 DUE TO THE STOCK ENGINE BEING UNRELIABLE AND PRONE TO FAILURE.  THE ROTAX ENGINE  IS THE PERFECT REPLACMENT ENGINE,  THEY ARE A  SOLID RELIABLE ENGINE WITH  ALL PARTS READILY AVAILIBLE IF EVER NEEDED IN THE NEW OR USED MARKET.  THE ROTAX CONVERSION FOR THE FL 400 IS MOSTLY A  PERFORMANCE UPGRADE OR  REPLACING  A BLOWN STOCK ENGINE.  THE FL 400 KITS ARE NOW IN THE SECOND GENERATION USING THE NEWER ROTAX 600 AND 600HO ENGINES.  THE ROTAX  CONVERSION  KITS ARE ALL BOLT IN,  THERE IS A FRAME MOD THAN CAN BE DONE ON THE FL 350  TO ALLOW FOR USE OF THE RECOIL STARTER.

THINGS TO KEEP FROM THE STOCK  SETUP (FL 350 AND FL 400)
RUBBER ENGINE MOUNT BUSHINGS, DRIVE BELT, VOLTAGE REGULATOR, RUBBER MOUNT FOR FUEL TANK
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE OIL INJECTON PUMP HAS BEEN REMOVED AND YOU HAVE YOU MIX YOUR FUEL AT A 40:1 RATIO,   THE OIL TANK  ON THE FUEL CELL IS FOR THE OIL LUBRICATING THE CENTER SHAFT IN THE ENGINE BASE  THAT DRIVES THE INTAKE AND WATERPUMP
SPARK PLUGS FOR THE  ROTAX ENGINES ARE  NGK BR9ES
STEP 1.  REMOVE STOCK EXHAUST, ENGINE, FUEL TANK, AIR BOX, RADIATOR
STEP 2.  BOLT IN NEW ENGINE MOUNT,  BOLT FUEL PUMP TO MOUNT BEFORE INSTALLING IN FRAME
STEP 3.  BOLT ENGINE ON MOUNT PLACING SUPPLIED SPACERS BETWEEN ENGINE AND ENGINE MOUNT.
STEP 4.  INSTALL EXHAUST,  ON THE FL 350 YOU HAVE TO BOLT THE SILENCER AND TUNE PIPE IN PLACE FIRST BEFORE BOLTING HEADER ON THE ENGINE.
STEP 5.  INSTALL STARTER BRACKET AND STARTER ON THE ENGINE
STEP 6.  FL 350 ( CONNECT THE TWO OIL LINES TO THE TWO FITTINGS ABOVE AND BELOW THE INTAKE,  TANK CAN BE PUT IN PLACE TEMPORARILY TO GET THE CORRECT LENGTH, THESE LINES CONNECT TO THE SMALL OIL TANK ON THE FUEL CELL. 
STEP 7.  FL 350 ( LOOP  THE TWO SMALL BARBED FITTINGS ON THE INTAKE TOGETHER WITH A SHORT PIECE OF 1/8 FUEL LINE) 
STEP 8.  INSTALL CARBS, RUN FUEL LINES FROM PUMP TO CARBS AND VACUMM LINE  FROM ENGINE TO PUMP
STEP 9.  FL 350( INSTALL 90 DEG ELBOWS ON CARBS AND THEN AIR FILTERS)  FL 400 ( INSTALL AIRBOX AND AIRFILTER)
STEP 10. INSTALL RAD BRACKETS,  LOOSEN BOLTS ON  REAR DOWN TUBES OF CAGE, LOOSLY INSTALL UPPER MOUNT THEN INSTALL LOWER MOUNT, PLACE RAD IN PLACE ON LOWER MOUNT AND THEN FINISH PLACING TOP MOUNT.
STEP 11. INSTALL RAD HOSES,  OUTLET ON BOTTOM OF RAD CONNECTS TO OUTLET ON ENGINE BASE,  OUTLET ON ENGINE HEAD CONNECTS TO  OUTLET ON TOP OF RAD.
